If you complete all the cases there are now further expansions available: MicroMacro: Crime City – Full House and MicroMacro: Crime Cit圓 – All In. Suggested age is 12+ and there are age appropriateness guidelines on the cases given that violence is depicted albeit in a cartoon-style abstract way. MicroMacro: Crime City can be played equally well solo. You will spend much time poring over the detail to find the match you are looking for. This is because the level of detail is intense, think Where’s Wally with a criminal twist. Bright lighting is highly recommended and you are provided with a small magnifying glass. The map fills a large table or could be hung on a wall. This is a co-operative game for 1-4 people though it will accommodate as many people as can fit around the map and see it comfortably. Each step successfully located will lead on to the next until you reach the successful denouemnet. The protaganists of each case will be shown many times on the map showing their progress in time as well as space. These are grid referenced to the map for ease of location. When you think you have found the scene requested flip the card to see the correct answer. After a summary description of the case is read out you are asked to locate specific scenes or persons on the panoramic cityscape. These vary in length from 5 steps for the introductory cases up to 11 steps for the most complex. These cases are presented in a number of steps on cards. You play the role of consulting detective aiding a beleagured and bemused Police Department struggling with 16 cases varying from the trivial to the heinous.
